Urge Congress to Pass Legislation Safeguarding Stem Cell Research This Year
November 3, 2010
The Center for Inquiry-Office of Public Policy is urging supporters to tell Congress to pass legislation safeguarding stem cell research during the lame duck session scheduled for mid-November.
A recent
federal court ruling threatens to cancel scores of experiments in
diseases ranging from diabetes to Parkinson's. A legislative solution
is therefore necessary to ensure that federal funding for this important
research is no longer vulnerable to political or ideological challenge.
Urge
your Senators and Representative to cosponsor the Stem Cell Research
Advancement Act (H.R. 4808 / S. 3766). Tell them that Congress must act now to pass a bill in
2010 that explicitly authorizes the NIH to fund embryonic stem cell
research. Click
