The U.S. House of Representatives today approved a bill to amend the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 that includes language providing explicit protections for the rights of non-theists, atheists, and humanists.

CFI Amongst Groups Opposing Taxpayer-Funded Religious Discrimination

The Center for Inquiry has joined 82 partners in the Coalition Against Religious Discrimination in sending a letter to the Senate Committee on Armed Services that voices strong opposition to any amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2017, S. 2814, that would sanction taxpayer-funded employment discrimination. 

Group Urges UN Human Rights Council to Investigate Attacks in Bangladesh

The Center for Inquiry today joined a group of sixteen human rights organizations in issuing a statement calling for the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry by the United Nations Human Rights Council into the murders of at least nine writers, bloggers, publishers, academics, and activists in Bangladesh since February 2015, including four in the last month alone.
