Clinton: Anti-Defamation Laws Restrict Freedom of Speech

On Monday, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke out against anti-defamation laws around the world, stating that she "strongly disagree[s]" with that type of policy. She did so during the unveiling of the State Department's annual report on international religious freedom. Many supporters of freedom of religion were excited by her speech, but many also felt that her and the rest of the Obama administration, while making strong statements to the international community on the subject, have failed to transform those statements into policy.
