"On Sunday in this column I shared the story of a woman who
was denied membership in a local club because she told the
truth in her admission interview: She does not believe in
God.
The woman said she understands private groups have a right
to choose their own members. But what really hurt was that
she was also denied the right to accompany other members to
the club, as their guest, in the future."
