Honoring Darwin’s Birthday by Revisiting His Theory and Puncturing Some Common Misconceptions
The word "evolution" is very familiar in everyday speech, but some of the ideas and images conjured up by the word have little to do with Darwin's theory. In this talk, I will honor Darwin's birthday by revisiting Darwin's theory and puncturing some common misconceptions. I will also discuss recent attacks on the theory of evolution and its place in the science curriculum.
Dr. Joanna Masel is an assistant professor in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona.
