This final session by Jim Gressinger will be presented at 10:00 AM on Sunday March 15th at UMC Duval Auditorium. The title of lecture 6 is "What's So Great About Secular Humanism". Previous lectures have been highly critical of religious worldviews, not just because they are intellectually indefensible, but more importantly because they are major contributors to human misery and preventable death worldwide.

Lecture 6 will focus on Secular Humanism's positive contributions to human happiness, including the social, moral, political, and material progress that stems from the triumph of reason over faith. Lecture 5 dispelled the Big Lie perpetrated by religious authorities who claim: Without God, there can be no morality. Lecture 6 will dispel the Other Big Lie that says: In a society without God, life would be solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short . Included will be numerous examples of societies that eschew religion, but are fair, happy, and prosperous.

Lunch at 12 noon will follow.
