Shawn Lawrence Otto is author of Fool Me Twice: Fighting the Assault on Science in America, which received starred reviews from both Kirkus and Publishers Weekly. He is the cofounder and CEO of ScienceDebate2008 and ScienceDebate.org, the largest political initiative in the history of American science. He has appeared on NPR, PBS, CBS, FOX, ABC, MSNBC, the New York Times, Salon.com, SCIENCE, Huffington Post, Issues in Science and Technology, Scientific American, New Scientist, Rolling Stone and many others, writing and talking about America’s problem with science and how it threatens democracy. He is also a filmmaker best known for writing and coproducing the Academy-Award-nominated House of Sand and Fog. He lives with his wife, Minnesota State Auditor Rebecca Otto, and their son Jake, in a wind-powered, passive solar home they designed and built with their own hands.
