CLEARWATER - UUC Clearwater Humanists - Thinking can Change Your Mind
Our next UUC Humanist meeting will feature The Reverend Dr. Anthony Johnson, Interim Minister at UUC, who will speak on, The Power of Positively Edgy Thinking. He notes that a person becomes who s/he is through the totality of life experiences. But, some ideas can really stretch a person’s thinking. He will share several ideas that have directed his thinking as a humanist – including a challenge to what he (like most humanists) thought he had meant when he used the words “self” and “identity.”
Tony became a Unitarian Universalist while a college student in Boston in 1969. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Boston University, his Master of Divinity from Harvard University, his Master of Science in urban policy analysis and management from the New School for Social Research, and his Doctor of Ministry from New York Theological Seminary. He was ordained by his first congregation, the Unitarian Fellowship of Burbank, California in 1977. He served congregations in five states as a parish minister and as an interim minister. He served on several UU bodies, many community coalitions and alliances, and administered community ministries at the local and national levels. He taught at the New School, Monmouth University, Bloomfield College, and the Meadville Lombard Theological School.
