: Charles Darwin's 200th birthday - February 12, 2009
Content
: Each Poster to present one or more aspects of Darwin's scientific life and work.
Examples : Origin of Species; Descent of man; Voyage of the Beagle; Coral Reefs - structure and distribution of; How Orchids are fertilized by insects; The variation of domestic plants and animals; The expression of emotion in man and animals; Insectivorous plants; The effects of cross and self fertilization in the vegetable kingdom; The spread and evolution of insects or birds across Pacific islands from Asia or South America; The formation of vegetable mold through the action of worms.
Style
:
Mostly graphic images with introductory and concluding short paragraphs.
Size
:
Approximately 24" by 36", Tri-fold (36" x 48") is acceptable
Material
:
Stiff poster board or Showboard.
Poster must be able to stand on its own.
All content must be affixed to the poster.

Participation procedure
: Application: Students filled out the CFI Call for Posters Application Form, then gave to their teacher. Accepted entrants were contacted.
- Posters were sent to the county Science Supervisor on January 29, 2009.
- Judging will occur on January 31, 2009. Posters will be judged by a committee of scientists on scientific content and merit, not just quality of artistry. They will be judged giving 60% weight to factual accuracy and 40% weight to creative presentation.
- Awards will be made on February 7, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the J. F Germany Library first floor Science Section.
- Posters will be remain on display at the library until February 14, 2008 but may be removed prior by the student.
