International Blasphemy Day 2009
International Blasphemy Day -Wednesday, September 30, 6:00--9:00 p.m.
Brief Discussion . What is blasphemy? What laws are there now and have been in the past concerning blasphemy? Should blasphemy be a crime? Should religion be immune from criticism? Rick O'Keefe will be the discussion leader (unless an "expert" is available).
Games . Board games are something many adults forego, but remember as having been a pleasurable activity. Well, we have just purchased "Playing Gods", a game of gods fighting for world domination (destroying all other gods and their non-converting adherents. Sound familiar?). A handful of people can play, and the game (once learned) takes from 1/2 to 2 hours. Other games can be played if members bring their favorite board game, or a deck of cards. Please! NO 52 card pickup, or similar.
Eats . Probably Pizza, a most heavenly meal!
Cost . Non-member $5. Free parking.
As always, an
