Richard Dawkins Brings the Light of Reason to the U.S. for Spring Tour
March 12, 2017
Richard Dawkins, the world renowned author and scientist who has introduced the wonders of science and the vital importance of reason to generations of admirers, is returning to America this spring for special events in four U.S. cities. After an extremely successful tour in 2016, demand was high for additional opportunities to see, live on stage, the man who ignited revolutions in thought with such landmark books asThe Selfish GeneandThe God Delusion.
“An Evening with Richard Dawkins,” presented by the Center for Inquiry, will feature Prof. Dawkins with distinguished guests engaging in unscripted conversation about a wide variety of compelling topics, including science, culture, current affairs, and more. In an era beset by the rise of “alternative facts” and assaults on science from the highest reaches of political power, there has never been a greater need for Dawkins’ unmistakable brand of forthright, enlightened discourse. Tickets can be purchased at centerforinquiry.net/dawkinstour.
Prof. Dawkins will appear in Los Angeles (May 18), Boulder (May 22), Washington, DC (May 24), and Miami (May 27). In Boulder, Prof. Dawkins will be in conversation with actress and bestselling author Annabelle Gurwitch, and in Miami he’ll be joined by Pulitzer Prize winning humorist Dave Barry. Special guests for Los Angeles and Washington will be announced soon. Each event will be preceded by a V.I.P. reception with Dawkins himself.
“It is always so gratifying to be with Richard during his public events. In addition to enjoying Richard’s insights on reason and science, he’s also very witty,” said Robyn Blumner, President and CEO of the Center for Inquiry, which merged with the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science in 2016. “During the book signings, people tell Richard how much his ideas positively influenced their thinking and the trajectory of their lives. We’re delighted to have him back, to help keep the light of reason burning bright.”
