What We Do
CFI–Western New York offers educational lectures and community events for humanists and skeptics in the Buffalo, NY region.
Some of our regular programming includes:
- Potluck Dinner Party: Every second Wednesday of the month, secular humanists gather at the center for food and fellowship at 7pm.
- Secular Family Network: Coffee & Conversation is a discussion meeting for families that takes place every second Sunday of the month from 10:30am until noon. A child care program takes place simultaneously, called Young Inquirers, where children are offered separate adult supervision with volunteer humanist leaders.
- SOS (Secular Organizations for Sobriety): SOS is a secular recovery group dedicated solely to helping individuals achieve and maintain sobriety. All those who seek sobriety are welcome as members. Every Tuesday, SOS gathers from 7-8:30pm.
- Recovering From Religion: Those who leave religion behind sometimes suffer painful emotional consequences, even at the hands of friends or family. This group is a safe and non-judgmental place for you to explore your thoughts and experiences as they pertain to life after religion. Recovering From Religion meets every Monday night from 7-8pm.
As always, we appreciate your support as we continue our work in the Western New York community and beyond. Please consider becoming a member today! For as little as $60 a year, together we can promote science, reason, secular values, and critical thinking.
