CFI-Western New York Winter Solstice Celebration 2016
Celebrate the season secularly! The CFI–Western New York Winter Solstice Celebration is free for all—CFI members, non-members, and students. This is a family-friendly event and all are welcome, including children.
The event will be catered by Zetti’s, with the same great food we’ve served for the past several years. We ask that everyone bring an appetizer or dessert to share. Please be sure to RSVP by Friday, December 16 at noon so we have an accurate head count.
Before the event, we're offering a tour of the Center for Inquiry–Transnational building.
The CFI–Western New York community has the benefit of utilizing CFI headquarters as its home base, but we know that many in our community haven't seen all that the incredible space has to offer! Between the Rare Book Room in the CFI Library and Joe Nickell's office full of skeptic artifacts, it's worth seeing the full CFI–Transnational building.
Before the Solstice festivities, CFI Outreach Director Debbie Goddard is offering a CFI–Transnational building tour. Show up at 5:45 PM before the Winter Solstice Celebration to join the tour!
We will also be taking donations for Friends of Night People.
This year we will be collecting the following items:
- New and/or gently used socks, hats, and gloves (men’s clothing is especially needed)
- New personal care items (deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, lotion, lip balm)
- Non-perishable food (dry and canned goods, coffee and hot chocolate, cookies, desserts)
You can bring these items by the center anytime between now and December 21, and we’ll be collecting them at the front entrance. Thank you for giving back and supporting folks in need in our Western New York community and beyond.
We look forward to seeing you at the CFI–Western New York Winter Solstice Celebration. If you have any trouble registering or would prefer to RSVP by phone or email, you can reach us at 716-636-4869 ext. 402 or email@example.com.
