Dr. John Novak: “Humanistic Leadership for Educational Lives”

In his lecture, John Novak describes how the act of education is fundamentally one of both imagination and hope. Novak also explains that humanistic leadership is about calling forth and sustaining these imaginative acts before diverse audiences and in difficult and complex situations. He presents approaches to working with people in humanistic ways to achieve poignant and lasting educational ends.

John Novak, PhD. is professor of education at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. As a lecturer on the subject of education, he has given keynote addresses in many diverse locations, ranging from north of the Arctic Circle to the very bottom of New Zealand. His recent books include From Conflict to ConciliationInviting Educational Leadershipand Democratic Teacher Education.
