Reason Rally Director Lyz Liddell Will Join CFI as Programming Director This Summer

May 4, 2016

The Center for Inquiry is excited to announce that Lyz Liddell, current executive director of the 2016 Reason Rally, will join the staff of CFI in July as the new Vice President, Director of Programming. In addition to leading programming at CFI, Lyz will be managing the substantive programs and initiatives of the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason & Science, which is merging with CFI.

Lyz is well known and deeply respected within the secular and skeptic communities, for having directed the programming of the national Secular Student Alliance (SSA) for seven years, and for her pioneering leadership as Project Manager of the Openly Secular campaign at its launch.

Currently, Lyz is leading the alliance of freethought groups that make up the Reason Rally Coalition. The 2016 rally is on track to eclipse the history-making 2012 event with bigger stars, more events, and many more people gathering on the National Mall in Washington, DC to celebrate reason and science. The Reason Rally and its surrounding events take place June 2-5, 2016.

“Lyz is doing a masterful job pulling together the Reason Rally,” said Robyn Blumner, CEO of the Center for Inquiry. “After having worked with her personally for nearly two years, first when she was with SSA and managing the Openly Secular campaign, I can say that she is without a doubt one of the most talented people I have ever had to pleasure to work with. I know she will be an incredible addition to CFI.”

“I’m really excited to be joining this team,” said Lyz. “The Center for Inquiry is an organization with tremendous potential, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it…and I can’t wait to get back to work on Openly Secular again!”

Lyz Liddell will be enthusiastically welcomed to CFI when she begins work in late July 2016.
